The eclipse has happened. Whatever you decided to do for the event I hope you had a lovely sun meet moon experience wherever you were in the world. Even if you couldn’t see the eclipse the energy is affecting the whole planet. For example, maybe you were crying earlier this week and now feel really antsy? Chalk it up to eclipse energy.
What are you going to do with all that pent-up energy? Maybe you have an idea of what you want to start, but feel so jumbled you don’t know where to begin.
I pulled some cards for us on how to proceed. This Tarot spread takes into account who we were, who we are, and who we’ll be in the future if we so choose to accept the adventure at hand.
Past: The Knight of Pentacles
In the past we fixated on something that maybe saved us, or maybe distracted us. Maybe a little of both. Look back on the past few years at where you’ve done the work. How did that turn out for you?
At first, I looked at the skeleton horse and the knight as giving up their power to the mighty coin. This was leading them off the cliff. To me this was a total downer and didn’t feel quite right (and not in that, “I don’t want to listen to what the cards has to tell me kind of way. This morning that was me with a spread I’d done for myself. I didn’t want to listen to what the cards were conveying, but I’m glad I listened to my instinct and took heed of the message. It shone an insightful light on the whole day. First day of sun in Virgo anyone?).
Then I looked into the symbolism of the Knight of Pentacles. When I returned to view the card, I realized the knight and horse weren’t walking themselves off the cliff. They were grounded at the edge. The coin is a guide keeping them safe, not something they are chasing.
What is the shiny thing that guides you and keeps you from going over the cliff? As Theresa Reed notes, the Knight of Pentacles is the only Knight card who is standing still. Maybe it looks to others like you’re going over the cliff, but you’re actually deeply rooted.
Present: Seven of Wands
What’s that in the sky? Flying fish? No problem! We have our bundle of wands and we’re ready to fight. We’re prepared and ready to live through whatever is trying to drown us out.
Your shiny pentacle? Use it now to activate your wands. So many people have already said, “No thank you,” to what’s going on. Let’s keep going. Soothe your restless feelings with action. Not sure what your chosen action spell should be? Get quiet and sit with the intention. Go out with friends and have conscious conversation. Look for signs. Act when you’re not quite sure, but you sense you’re on to something, and your action will lead to the activism that’s right for you.
Future: Knave of Wands
Once I flipped this card I knew the suite of Wands was going to be the theme of this spread. The wands represent fire, passion, and creativity. The wand showing up is very appropriate for an eclipse that took place the fire sign of Leo. The sun and moon meeting in Leo directs us to what our hearts desire. Leo is also represented by a rolling fire in a fireplace. Are the wands also firewood perhaps?
Tarot reader, Theresa Reed, notes that this card is a good omen. The future is bright. We brighten our own futures with our magic wands as we stand at the foot of a new cave we’ve discovered. Remember, the darker the cave we venture into, the brighter our light will appear.
Good luck on your own post eclipse adventure!
